We’re packing our bags for a trip to the ‘Path of Totality’ in April. We will be flying and then road tripping to West Texas with friends to experience a magical nature treat – the last total solar eclipse in North America for the next 20 years on Monday, April 8, 2024.
If a once in a lifetime trip to a location in the path sounds like something you would like to do as well, I’d recommend making your plans as soon as possible. Check out my eclipse travel planning post to help!
Regardless of where you are viewing from, partial eclipse viewing is only safely done with the use of special eclipse glasses. In the path of totality, you will experience the partial eclipse before and after totality making viewing glasses critical for all.
Based on previous eclipse events, as we get closer to the date, viewing glasses can get hard to find and you need to watch out for fakes.
The American Astronomical Society provides a list of vendors that sell legitimate eclipse glasses to help consumers buy with confidence. One brand on the AAS approved list is Medical King who carries both paper glasses and durable plastic frames.
I’ve included the links here for both types by Medical King. Please note that I may receive a commission if you make a purchase after clicking on one of these links. This does not impact the price to you.
I’ll also be bringing along a special travel journal designed for the capturing memories from the 2024 Eclipse experience.
I’ll be sharing more of our travels and our experience in the ‘path of totality’. Follow me on Instagram and subscribe to the blog to come along.
Adventure on!
